  • …. Something about smell
The pure colour is not only a manifestation of presence and space but an expression of emotionality. The colour represents sensations which are immediate connected with our perception.
The colour of my works is precise, intense and matt. It refers always to a natural phenomenon: the strong colour of flowers, the atmospheric blue of sky, the black soot of fire or the brightness of a sunbeam.
These sensations are not only optical but speak to all my senses. An intense red recalls perhaps a velvet, a lipstick or blood. It evokes a chain of feelings, including the taste and fragrance.
My relieves are composed of two parts: the body of steel witch is to be seen in his pure form on the side vie and the monochrome colour. The tension exists between the presence of material (steel and colour pigments) and the immaterial colour space. In that tension flews the imagination of concrete sensations to overcome the rational space.

The manufacturing of my works which I do personally by myself means also different steps. Cutting the steep, welding the plates, abrading the surface, cleaning with turpentine and painting with enamel are steps which are connected with different smell. A friend told me that he exactly knows what I am just working on when he enters my studio just be smelling it. I am always surrounded by smells, real or imagined.
